[ The river of mirrors ]

Adventuring through this beautiful landscape with the most incredible team of creatives reminded me of how much beauty there is right on my doorstep! Set amongst the natural Everglades of Noosa, Australia. This campaign paints the picture of reminiscences, long days spent by the water, watching the setting sun, observing the summer storm rolling in, hot days that turn to night and salty air brushing against the skin;

The day began at Lucy’s gorgeous Sunshine Coast home, a charming newly renovated, green Queenslander, located in Boreen Point, where we did hair and makeup styling. The styling brief for the shoot was minimalistic, undone beauty, allowing Lucy’s creations to shine and speak for themselves. We ventured down to the river to board the boat and began our journey to the Everglades. Being towed behind our boat was an adorable vintage row boat which became quite the feature of the shoot. The Noosa Everglades is a 60km stretch of pristine waters and home to some magnificent flora and fauna which makes for amazing photoshoot location. What makes the Noosa Everglades even more special, is that it’s one of two Everglades in the world, the other being Florida. Arriving to the Everglades was absolutely breathtaking. It’s wild to think that in my 30 years of living on on the Sunshine Coast, this was my first time exploring and experiencing this magical place. As we entered the Everglades it felt like we were floating on a river of mirrors because of the incredible reflections in the water. Towards the end of the day, raindrops began to fall leaving a ripple effect on the river surface, which added a moody element to the shoot. The women embraced the weather and began to dance in the rain. It was truely a magical moment of 2 women celebrating a feeling of freedom in nature. (Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.)
